Khandoba (also known as Martanda Bhairava) is a form of Shiva who defeats demons Mani and Malla with the help of His wife Mhalsa (a form of Parvati). The deity is seated with his consort on horseback and is removable from the horse, he holds a sword in his right hand to fight the Demons and the horse is Vahana. This particular form of Lord Shiva is mostly worshipped in Maharashtra.
